Random Rippling - 80s Music Scene Reunion
posted: May 23, 2024
Long-time promoter and local businessman (and in his words 'still living') Bill Levin organized a reunion of "old-timers" at the Alley Cat Front Room. Bill said he is tired of only getting together with the old gang at funerals.
There was a big turnout of 80s and 90s business owners and musicians.
Julie Cicada Crow, owner of Modern Times Boutique at 54th and College Avenue back in the 80s (where Yats is today), brought old photographs and Taboo Magazines from the mid-80s.
We talked about old music venues like Crazy Al's, Skitz, Stone Mug Cafe, and the Patio.
I learned a lot about the illegal gambling scene in Broad Ripple back then!
Bill says he will set up another get-together in the Fall. Count me in!
